The Onetangi Beach Races are the most exciting Sealegs event on the calendar! Visit Onetangi on Sunday 28th of March to enjoy a day of racing (both fun and serious), enjoy great food and wine, bid on a blind auction filled with incredible items, put a bet down on the horses and of course, enjoy the Sealegs race!
In 2021 we will again be putting on an Exhibition Race. Read on below to learn more.
But that's not all! You don't have to enter the events to come and enjoy the day. We provide a buffet lunch in our private marquee and have give-away prizes just for turning up with your craft. Everything kicks off at 10am on Sunday, 28th of March on Onetangi Beach, with the race schedule beginning a quarter of an hour later.
To sign up for the race, or just as a spectator, register now!

HOW TO GET THERE
FERRIES
The easiest way to get there is to take the ferry from the Auckland downtown ferry terminal. On Sunday, these ferries run every half hour, on the hour. You can buy a return ticket from the kiosk right next to the pier.
If you wish to take a vehicle across, you'll need to check out the Sealink Website, found here. These ferries run at different times depending on whether you're leaving from Wynyard quarter or Half Moon Bay, so plan your trip ahead of time!
BUSES
Once you're on Waiheke, you will want to catch a bus to Onetangi Beach. These leave from right outside the ferry terminal on Waiheke, and approximately twice an hour. For exact times, here.
Bus tickets to Onetangi from Matiatia are $3.50 cash, or $1.95 on an AT HOP card. Children are $2 cash or $1.05 on an AT HOP card.
SEALEGS
We're hoping that if you have a Sealegs, you'll bring it along to the races. There's no pressure to race if you don't want to, but it's always fun to meet up with other amphibians and see how they're doing. Our staff will be available if you have any questions about your boat, or if you want to talk about options or upgrades.
There is plenty of space on the beach dedicated to Sealegs parking, so please do bring your boat!
