Dear Friends of Sealegs,
We have a saying at Sealegs “Life is Amazing” and without doubt this year certainly has been. Most of us think about the extreme highs and lows when thinking about how amazing life is but most wisemen will say it’s the journey that counts and that consists of many small steps. This year at Sealegs we’ve made lots of small steps that will make the future for our stakeholders much better. Things like:
- Moving Lancer to Albany which when coupled with Sealegs introduced new technology, increased morale and an increase in revenue in excess of 50%
- A new sales showroom
- The investment in another router increasing our production efficiency
- The introduction of the latest and most advanced computer systems to manage our ever-growing number of international customers
- Invested into our customer service operation, more people, more tools and equipment and more vehicles so we can respond to our customers faster and more efficiently than ever before
- A dedicated mobile customer service ranger located on Waiheke Island where our single largest install base is
It’s unlikely we’d call any of these things “amazing’ in fact the trials and tribulations of each project could easily be defined as painful. We do it because together the advantages they will bring to Sealegs and our customers over time will no doubt be amazing.
I couldn’t say it enough and will probably say it again thank you to all the people I work with, suppliers, customers, partners, dealers and board. I hope you all have the happiest of times and the most cherished of memories during this Christmas break.
Along with those trials and tribulation Sealegs has been fighting another type of trial in court. We’ve been defending the Intellectual property we invented 15 years ago from a group of ex-employees who stole it. The process has been far from amazing and unfortunately a major part of our year so for those who are interested read on and for those not, have a Merry Christmas.

New World delivery - 9.0m Hydrasol RIB
In December this year New World Whitianga took delivery of a 9.0m Hydrasol RIB, which is being used for a unique and exciting new delivery venture.

Waiheke-based Customer Service
We'd like to welcome Dean Cunningham as our new full-time Waiheke-based service technician, along with his very own Sealegs customer service vehicle.
